Kora's Story

On December 4th, 2023, our sweet Kora was born at 36 weeks. Right from the start of Kora’s arrival on earth, doctors had concerns due to medical complications she presented. At nine days old, we received devastating news that Kora was living with a complex rare genetic diagnosis (23 other confirmed cases in the world). Our lives changed instantly as Kora’s health and future was unknown.

 

After 157 days in the Rochester Mayo Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we brought our girl home on hospice to spend whatever amount of time God gave us, all under the same roof. After 3 days at home making memories as a family of four (and dog, Scout), Kora went to be with Jesus on Mother's Day 2024. 

 

Our darkest days is where Christ's light hit the brightest. This difficult journey has led my husband and I to have a stronger desire to grow in our faith and closer to the Lord. Our girl brought us “into the light” and we pray our story and mission can bring others closer to Jesus.
